Who or what inspired you to become an Apprentice?
My wife, she inspired me to become an Apprentice, she challenged me to improve my skills in my current job.
What was the biggest factor in making you decide to do Apprenticeship?
For me, the biggest factor in doing Apprenticeship is my two sons, Marc and Paulo. By completing my Apprenticeship I have set them a good example highlighting the importance of continuous education.
The Apprenticeship route was best for me with my busy work schedule and young family.
Describe a typical day in the office - what do you enjoy most about your role, and why?
A typical day in the office includes care planning, completing risk assessments, staff rotas, supervising staff and completing employee appraisals and 1-1s whilst solving any daily issues in the home or concerns.
How do you think an Apprenticeship has improved or opened up your career options?
My Apprenticeship has opened up many career options for me as I have become more confident and competent within my job role.
Taking the Apprenticeship route has not only benefitted me as I have learnt so much but also it has been essential for my employer to have me trained and working at a productive level.
What advice would you give to other people considering an Apprenticeship as a route?
My advice would be “Go for it”- it enables you to learn to deal with other challenges that you face throughout your life and it gives you a more competitive edge. If there are other learning opportunities for me in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
